14 Strategies to Get 1 Million Subscribers on YouTube

No matter where you are on your YouTube journey, you can easily work to increase your subscribers. Today, we’re going to share 14 strategies that can help you expand your reach and gain 1 million subscribers on YouTube.

1. Find Your Niche and Stick with it

First up, you need to find a niche that works for you and stick with it. The ‘for you’ aspect here warrants emphasizing, as the niche you choose needs to be something you are genuinely passionate about. You cannot expect to grow your subscriber count to a decent size by playing around with niches of no real interest to you.

Think about what it is you do best, and then set your sights on finding the right target audience for it. Avoid the temptation to do things the other way around, or you’ll be targeting a niche outside your interests. One in which you will never succeed, irrespective of how hard you try.

2. Break Your Million Subscriber Goal into Smaller Goals

It’s going to be some time before you get anywhere near 1 million subscribers. In the meantime, it’s essential to set yourself smaller and more immediately achievable goals. Each of which you must celebrate and make a big deal of as a show of appreciation to your subscribers.

For example, you could start by getting your first 1000 subscribers on YouTube. From there, aim to reach 10,000 subscribers, 20,000 subscribers, and so on. Make a huge deal of your 100,000 and 500,000 subscribers’ milestones, taking every opportunity to thank your subscribers for sticking with you.

3. Understand Your Audience

In order to fully understand your target audience, you need to conduct research into their preferences, interests, and demographics. The more you can learn about your audience, the easier it will be to create content that really grabs their attention and gets you that gold button award.

Once you get in the habit of regularly reviewing your YouTube analytics and start to understand your subscribers, you can tailor your content to fit the most popular videos they enjoy watching. This will help you to both attract and retain subscribers, getting you closer to your goal of 1 million subscribers.

If you notice that some of your videos perform better than others, focus on this type of content in the future. It’s important to focus on content that will get you closer to your membership and subscriber goals while still discussing topics you are passionate about.

4. Create High-Quality Content

Competition on YouTube is high, so you need to ensure that you’re offering incredible videos that will capture your audience’s attention and keep them tuned in until the end of each video. Trending creators are more likely to gain a larger number of viewers, which can help you to thrive on YouTube.

Make sure you focus on producing content that is visually appealing, engaging, and offers value to your target audience. Video editing is critical for this task, so if you aren’t a confident editor, either outsource this task to a professional or work to improve your techniques.

When you improve the quality of your content and editing, you’ll notice that you attract new viewers and keep them hooked on your channel week after week. They’ll be far more likely to subscribe to your channel if they are excited to come back for your next upload.

5. Optimize Your Videos

Search engine optimization isn’t just for website owners; it’s also something YouTube creators need to learn about. If you want to rank higher in search results, you’ll want to optimize each of your videos with relevant keywords, well-crafted metadata, and compelling thumbnails.

Optimization enhances your chances of being discovered on the site, which will naturally increase your click-through rates. If you’re optimizing well, you’ll get more video views and gain new subscribers. Video titles and meta descriptions should use popular keywords that people in your target audience search for.

If you need inspiration in this area, research the most popular videos in your niche and see what they are doing to rank highly and get a million subscribers.

6. Be Consistent

You need more than just one viral video to earn money and gain subscribers on YouTube. Consistency is the key to success on this platform, which will help to show you have the most active hours within the YouTube partner program.

Create a consistent upload schedule that works with your personal goals. Choose a day or best time to upload your videos so that your audience knows what to expect from you. In addition to helping you have the most active hours in the YouTube partner program, this will help you build trust and loyalty among your subscribers.

Reliable uploads will keep your viewers engaged, making them more likely to return for your new content. This will ultimately give you a greater chance of being a trending creator and enjoying subscriber growth.

7. Add End Screens and Subscribe Button to Your Videos

If you don’t remind your viewers to subscribe, how will they ever hit that button at the end of your video? Make sure your to add end screen on videos to promote related content, playlists, or your subscribe button.

A simple reminder to press that button can convert casual viewers into dedicated subscribers. It makes the subscription process much quicker for you as a content creator. You don’t need to have different end screens or reminders for each video, so just make one you think suits your branding.

8. Interact with Your Audience

To become a full-time content creator on YouTube and get that gold button, you really need to work to build trust with your audience. Engaging with viewers by responding to their comments or asking for their feedback can encourage your audience to feel like they are part of a warm and welcoming community. Active interaction with your community on a regular basis will help to build stronger connections.

This not only encourages more viewers to subscribe but will also help to promote long-term loyalty. Subscribers will be far more likely to spread the word about your channel when they know how much you care about your followers. They’ll see that you are truly passionate about the topic you speak about, further building trust and loyalty.

One of the great things about YouTube is the sense of community among content creators. When you start to make connections within your field, you can collaborate with established influencers. You could run contests or make joint videos, which will allow you to tap into their established subscriber base.

The more visible your channel is on the platform, the higher the number of potential subscribers you could gain. Reach out to other channel owners on social media and see if they are interested in teaming up with you.

The higher the number of viewers you have on each video, the greater your chance of increasing your subscriber count. Remember, for each 1,000 video views, you can earn more on the site, so this is another incentive to use ads.

11. Leverage Social Media

As well as spending more time on your YouTube content, make sure you focus on other social media accounts to promote your videos.
