How to be Successful on TikTok?

As TikTok’s popularity soars with every passing day, more and more creators are joining this leading video-focused social networking platform with the same question in their mind, how to be successful on TikTok. Every ambitious creator signs up on TikTok and makes videos so that one day they would get recognized by its massive community and become famous.

And if you look at it rationally, it’s not a goal that is impossible to achieve on a platform as massive as TikTok. With more than 1.59 billion monthly active users who use this app at least eight times a day, TikTok is the perfect platform for creators to showcase their skills.

Just remember that if you are talented, you have a shot at becoming a star on TikTok. In today’s article, we’ll show you how you can become an influencer on TikTok by understanding its algorithm and using some pro tips that would make you a hot topic on this platform. So, let’s get down to business.

Understanding the TikTok Algorithm

To become successful on TikTok, you must understand its algorithm and see how it works. The TikTok algorithm is very sophisticated but has a simple 3 step process of handling a video. Here’s how it happens:

• As soon as someone uploads a video on TikTok, the algorithm recognizes its genre and shows it on the For You Page of random 100 to 500 people who had shown past interest in the kind of content you made.
• Algorithm then analyzes your videos and checks how many likes, comments, and shares they got. How many users watched it completely, and how many started following the creator or used the video’s audio to make TikTok videos of their own.
• After observing all these elements, the algorithm will calculate the engagement rate of the video. If a video gets 20% more likes in one day and over 60% of people watch the video completely (60% competition rate), the algorithm considers it worthy and shows it to even more people on their For You Page.

So, basically, the struggle here is to make excellent videos that pass the algorithm’s criteria and reach the maximum target audience to make you famous. With the algorithm’s favor by your side, you’ll become famous on TikTok soon enough. Now, let’s move on to the essential tips you’re going to need for leaving your mark on TikTok and becoming a celebrity.

Tips to Become Successful on TikTok

Finally, here we are with some best of the best tips that you can use to build your audience and to eventually become a renowned creator. All of these tips are tested and proven to bring good results, so dig in and start applying them when you’re done reading.

1. Set Goals

Whether you’re on TikTok, YouTube, or any other platforms where you want to achieve success, your first should be to set realistic goals. Your goals will help you stay focused on your journey and keep you motivated should you lose the will to fight.

They will also keep you updated regarding your progress; show you how far you’ve come and how far you still need to go. Pick up a notepad or open your laptop, and define goals as soon as possible because that’s how you begin your journey to the summit of TikTok, where stars exist.

Define target audience You need to define your target audience in the early stages of your journey to stay focused and determine what kind of content you’ll be making in the future. But how does one define their target audience? Well, you can start by finding a niche for your content.

As soon as you pick a niche and start making videos about it, you will automatically attract the audience interested in that genre, and they will become your target audience. Pay attention to their needs and keep changing your content style according to their demands.

Remember, if you keep these people happy, you’ll keep getting a steady number of views, likes, and shares which are necessary to climb the TikTok fame ladder, so take care of them and keep them engaged.

2. Consistency is the Key

Success on TikTok requires consistency over time, so make a timetable and stick to it. As an average viewer opens TikTok at least eight times a day, you need to post 4 to 5 videos so they can watch new content from you in a maximum of their visits.

That is what you can call the consistency of quantity. Then there comes the consistency of uploading times. Make sure to upload daily, at specific times of the day so your audience can expect to see your new content during their lunch break or by the time they get off from work. Find the best time to post video for maximum your visibility.

Not only will your regularity in uploading videos keep your audience hooked, but also positively gain more engagement score calculated by the algorithm; a nice mix of both, and you’ll be on the road to success in no time.

💡 Pro Tip: Consistency builds momentum — but a strong follower count amplifies it. You can buy active TikTok followers to build the social proof that makes every consistent upload reach a larger, more engaged audience from day one.

3. Personalize Your Profile Photo

You might find it hard to believe, but your TikTok profile photo can affect your image as a creator and can charm people into checking out your profile. You must’ve seen those profiles with such amazing profile pictures that they are almost impossible to neglect.

That’s what you need on your TikTok profile! And for that, you must upload your finest picture on your profile and ensure it has the same vibe which you try to give off through your videos.

4. Catch the Trend

No matter what kind of trend it is, a dance move, a support movement, or even a movie dialogue, TikTok is the platform where these trends resonate the most. The reason is that viewers on TikTok love watching trending stuff and always want more new variations.

For example, not so long ago, the ‘Squid game’ trend took over TikTok, and everyone was making videos about it. You need to keep an eye on these trends and follow them to give your audience new content.

Remember that finding trending songs and following trends is not only an option but a key strategy for thriving on TikTok. Keep your eyes peeled for trends and embrace them the moment you detect one, turning each trend into an opportunity to shine and connect with your audience.

5. Create Unique Content

Thousands of videos are uploaded on TikTok daily, but only those make it to the top that have an original idea behind them. Keep this in mind while creating content and try to come up out of the box ideas for your videos.

Your ideas should be unique and interesting enough to capture the audience’s attention in the first 3 seconds. So, always stay creative and keep refining your process to make excellent videos that pass the algorithm’s criteria and reach more people to make you famous eventually.

6. Engage with TikTok Videos

Give, and you shall receive! To get more engagement on your videos, you first need to engage with videos of your fellow creators. You can like, comment, or share their videos to show support and increase their engagement rate in doing so.

Now, when you keep engaging with videos, other creators will start returning this favor by engaging with your videos as well. It will boost your engagement rate and increasing comments, also visibility (all metrics important to the algorithm).

That’s why you should spend more time on TikTok as a viewer and engage with videos to earn favors and build your image as an active influencer.

7. Advertise on TikTok

If you want to achieve your goal quickly and have enough money to spend on this expedition, you can always advertise your content on TikTok. The platform offers five different kinds of ads that you can choose from according to your needs. Here they are:

Top View: Your profile will show up on the front screen when someone opens their TikTok app.

In Feed Ads: These ads are shown to the viewers on their feed, placed between other randomly suggested videos.

The first two advertisement methods are for individuals, and the next three are for brands and influencer marketing. You can pick the one which fits your needs and roll with it to capture your audience’s attention.

8. Use Analytics

You can use TikTok analytics to measure your success and keep track of your goals. Analytics will give you important insights into your videos and account. You can learn which of your videos are performing well and narrow down those which didn’t get much attention from the audience.

Using that information, you can learn about your audience’s behavior and find out what kind of content they want to see more. The data form analytics keeps a creator on his toes and inspires him to improve his videos to get better stats, so start using analytics to reap these benefits.

9. Be Active and Social
