After its humble beginnings, Twitch has now successfully reached more that has more than 240 million monthly active streamers, who stream their video game playing plus other gaming content live on this platform.

Now, since this platform is such a hot issue, here we are again to talk about it, and in today’s post, we’ll break down some tips by Twitch veterans that will help you get more attention on your stream and make you a famed streamer.

How to be a Successful Twitch Streamer?

In Twitch’s early days, achieving fame on Twitch was quite accessible. Even playing Super Mario alone used to be sufficient for success. However, it’s important to note that the landscape has evolved, and becoming a famous streamer now involves implementing additional strategies.

The following tips will help you get a good idea of what to do and what not to do in order to become a Twitch star. Also, they are tested and recommended by experts, so even if you’re going steady on the platform, it’s a good idea to apply them for good measure.

1. Create Unique Username

When you’re trying to make a name for yourself on a platform that has more than 9.89 million streamers, it becomes vital to come up with a unique name that people can remember after reading it just one time. Think of something unique that your audience can relate to, and then set it as your username.

Focus on the unique element so it can stick in a viewer’s mind, and he or she can find you later by recalling your name. Just make sure that you don’t go too far chasing uniqueness and make something weird. Keep it neat, simple, and amazingly unique.

For assistance in generating a unique Twitch username, you can utilize the Twitch username generator tool to find that perfect, memorable name.

2. Choose Quality Equipment

The key to a smooth and successful stream on Twitch is choosing quality equipment that doesn’t fail you any step of the way. From your computer setup to your internet connection, everything should be high quality. However, you need to focus on these three elements more:

Microphone

A good microphone is necessary to make sure that your viewers can hear your commentary without any trouble. Try to purchase the ones used in the studio and by professionals, it will cost you money, but it will uplift your stream’s quality which is the main goal here.

Camera

If you’re going to play a game and broadcast it on Twitch, then it’s a good idea to point a camera at yourself as well, so you can amuse your viewers with your expressions as well. Buy a quality DSLR with a good lens for this job, or you can go use any other digital camera as well.

Lighting

What good is it to buy a good camera if there’s no lighting? For your viewers to see you clearly, it’s vital that you use a proper lighting system. It won’t cost you much but will add an extra touch of aesthetics to your stream.

3. Be Yourself and Find Your Niche

Don’t try to impress your audience by pretending to be cool and stud; trust us, the audience hates it. Just be yourself, and while you stream, talk like you talk to your friends. This originality becomes the mark of the streamer, and the audience really likes it. Also, before making a move on Twitch, figure out your niche so you can focus on only one thing.

For example, if you’re going to do live stream gameplay, pick the one game you like the most and make it your niche. Picking a niche will help make your reputation as the player of a specific game, and it would be easier to gather an audience and become successful.

4. Create Your Own Strategy

Instead of going on the web and searching for successful strategies to boost your stream, it’s best if you stay at home and create your own strategy. Now, you might fail once or twice, but eventually, you’ll start making successful strategies that will increase your overall Twitch stats.

5. Stream Consistently

If you take a look at the streams of successful Twitch users, you will find a factor common in them, which is consistent streaming. To be famous and stay famous on Twitch, you need to make sure that you go live daily even if no one watches your stream.

Your consistency will not go unnoticed, and soon the Twitch algorithm will begin recommending your stream to the interested viewers.

In this way, you’ll get some initial mass, and if you don’t break the streak of consistency, someday, you’ll really become the streamer you always wanted to be. So schedule your stream daily or once in 2 days, and keep at it to be successful.

6. Catch the Trends

Twitch isn’t just a streaming platform, people; it’s social media for gamers. You need to keep an eye out for all the trends and make sure you’re following them. Do gaming challenges and follow other famous trends to give your audience new stuff to watch and to stay relatable.

7. Experiment with Your Content

Choosing one niche is a good thing, but experts also encourage streamers to experiment with their content to see how their audience responds. For example, if you’re playing RPG games, try switching to FPS games and notice if your audience likes it better or not.

If you get a positive reaction, start streaming that game as well, and if not, then you can always drop the idea.

8. Build Your Community

To achieve success as a streamer, prioritize building your own community, and interaction with your audience is key. Engage with viewers during live streams, read and respond to their comments, address their questions, and consider playing different games upon request.

Following these steps not only enhances your connection with the audience but also contributes to gaining Twitch followers, a critical metric for success on the platform. If you want to boost your audience quickly, consider buying Twitch followers. Purchasing followers will build your social proof, attracting more viewers and contributing to a thriving and active community around your streams.

9. Cross-Promote

Post about your twitch streams on all your social media channels so more people can know that you do live sessions on Twitch. Use Twitter, Snapchat, etc., for this task, and ask your friends to check out your streams by attaching the link to your account in posts.

Post Your Twitch stream on other social media platforms increases the potential followers and viewers by a great margin since most people on social media come on Twitch to support their friend’s or colleague’s stream and show their appreciation. So don’t forget to use this step and make it your priority.

10. Use Overlays and Alerts

Twitch overlays and alerts are a sassy way of setting your stream apart from your competition by giving it an aesthetic look. Invest in buying attractive and unique overlays that go well with your channel’s theme and apply them.

Statistics show that streamers who use aesthetic and cool overlays & alerts get more viewers on their live streams as compared to those who go with traditional layouts. Therefore, search for overlays that go well with your theme and apply them right away to upgrade your stream.

11. Do Collaborations with Popular Influencers

A quick and what you can call a ‘shortcut’ to become famous on Twitch is collaborating with famous influencers of your niche. But for this tactic to work, you first need to have enough followers on your channel, or your collaboration request won’t be considered.

Once you’re confident about your fan following, talk to some influencers and do a live stream together. Doing this will instantly put you on the radar of millions of viewers, and you’ll become a major league player in streaming.

12. Watch Other Streamers

To become a better streamer, you need to be dedicated to your niche and constantly learn what’s new and what’s trending. An effective way of doing this is watching the content of popular streamers of your niche.

If you like someone’s style, try to add it to your stream, or if you spot a good game, play it to stay on-trend. Watching other streamers will also help you understand your mistakes and make you an overall better streamer, so spend some time watching others’ content as well.

13. Interact while Streaming

It’s crucial to keep your audience engaged during a stream if you don’t want your viewer count to go down. So, keep interacting with your audience while streaming. Talk to them, read comments and ask questions, so they stick around and watch your stream till the very end.

14. Use Chatbots

Prioritizing your audience is a must if you want to be a successful Twitch streamer, but if you’re too busy to interact with them and answer their questions, then apply chatbots on your accounts. Chatbots will answer the questions of your viewers, but their responses are mostly limited.

That’s why you can’t trust them for a long or complicated conversation, and it’s better to intervene yourself and pick up the talk before the user realizes that they are talking to a bot.

15. Start Earning Money

Since Twitch partnered with streamers to give royalties and revenue on live streams, its popularity has increased even more. Streamers are now making tons of money by playing games and doing live streams on Twitch, and you can do it too.

To kickstart your journey, aim to meet the criteria for monetization on Twitch and strive to ‘Get Affiliate‘. Once achieved, you’ll be able to make big bucks while doing what you love 24/7.

16. Do Giveaways

To win favors and attract the audience, you should host giveaways and gift some gaming equipment to your selected followers. It will boost your reputation as a streamer that takes care of his audience, and more people will start following you to win cool prizes.

17. Emotes and Channel Points

Emotes are like emojis on social media, but Twitch has quite a value, and they are taken as a sign of aesthetics. So, you should use emotes in your chat answers, in your stream title, and in any other place where you can add text.

Also, go to your channel now and enable channel points. Channel points are basically the points a follower earns by staying active during your stream and interacting with your content. You, as a streamer, can reward the followers based on their Channel points.

For example, on 100 channel points, you can gift them unique emotes, and on 1000 or 2000 points, you can send them a present to encourage them. This tactic is quite similar to a giveaway but on a digital level, so try to apply it as well.
