Summarize This Article with AI
To get sponsored on YouTube, you must build a strong creator profile and grow your channel’s influence. YouTube is an online video-sharing platform with over 2.53 billion monthly active users, which is ideal for influencer marketing and brand collaborations. You can monetize your channel with YouTube Sponsorships, which is especially great for smaller accounts.
By getting brand deals and promoting a product or service, you can get reimbursed with monetary or product payment. YouTube Sponsorships can also provide creators with a stable source of income, and this article highlights some of the best, proven methods to help you get sponsored on YouTube and build a good content creator profile.
What Is YouTube Sponsored Videos?
YouTube-sponsored videos are explicitly created to promote a brand, product, or service. YouTube creators incorporate these promotions effortlessly and organically into their video content. A brand pays to make this happen through monetary means or access to any of its high-end products or services, giving creators a chance to get paid on YouTube.
It’s also relatively easy to spot YouTube videos with a sponsored product, as they usually have a disclosure at the beginning of the video. This isn’t the same as YouTube ads, so even if you upgraded your account to premium, you would still see the “sponsored” tag added by creators.
Common Types of YouTube Sponsorships
YouTube Sponsorships are divided into three different categories, as explained below:
1. Product Sponsorships
This refers to sponsorships where the brand sends free products to compensate for the content created for their business. For example, if you’re a beauty creator who gets a deal with a makeup brand, you can get compensated with some of their best makeup products. Reviewing or showcasing the products seamlessly within your content to make it look organic is also important.
2. Affiliate Sponsorships
In this kind of sponsorship, you get paid based on the number of viewers converted into sales. Simply put, when a viewer clicks on an affiliate link inserted into your video descriptions and makes a purchase, you get a cut between 5% and 30% of the purchase price.
3. Paid Sponsorship
This is the traditional influencer collaboration method where brands pay Youtubers with money rather than with products or percentages from conversions. Both parties agree on the best offer in paid sponsorships, including the number of promotional content pieces to tally with.
11 Proven Strategies to Get Sponsored on YouTube
Here are some of the best strategies to get sponsored on YouTube:
1. Optimize Your YouTube Channel to Attract Sponsors
To attract more sponsors, you’ll need to optimize your YouTube channel with professional and engaging content to attract sponsors to contact you. Start by defining your channel’s niche and create content around it to appeal to a specific audience. This should also be reflected in your channel name, making it easier for potential sponsors to understand your niche and contribute to your YouTube SEO.
Use a visually appealing channel banner that strikes a chord once your page refreshes. You can also get a professionally edited channel trailer introducing your brand and content style so potential sponsors know what to expect. Each video should include a captivating thumbnail to make your branding exciting to sponsors.
2. Focus on a Specific Niche
Niching down on a specific topic can single you out from many content creators, which can be your pass to more sponsorship opportunities. Many brands prefer to work with creators positioned as experts in a particular field. If you’re a generalist, you won’t be considered knowledgeable enough about a specific field.
To target a niche, start by determining your interests to understand what you’d enjoy creating content about. Then, research your audience, create consistent content, and show expertise. By doing this consistently, you can attract brands that want to connect with your target audience.
3. Develop Your Unique Content Strategy
Developing a unique content strategy is critical to attracting high-end brands on YouTube. Most sponsors want to see original ideas that can’t be discovered elsewhere on the internet. By staying original and authentic to your audience, you’ll reach more viewers and get more sponsorship deals.
To achieve this, focus on creating high-quality content with unique, innovative ideas, which may include sharing personalized stories. You should also invest in high-quality video equipment to make your content more visually appealing and significant. Finally, develop a video style and theme that you can maintain over time to keep your audience engaged.
4. Maintain a Consistent Posting Schedule
Being consistent can change the game for you as a creator. Many brands consider how severe and dedicated a user is based on the frequency of their channel posts. The latter has a better chance if they choose between someone who posts twice a year and once every two weeks.
Brands want to work with creators they can depend on, and being consistent makes it easier for them to plan and invest in sponsorship deals with you. In addition, a consistent schedule helps you maintain an engaged audience and increases your visibility on the YouTube algorithm, which can also be a huge advantage.
5. Build Your Subscriber Base
An increased subscriber count signals to potential sponsors that your channel has the influence and reach they need to promote their brand. This is why you must focus on building your subscriber base, as they find it attractive and will be willing to collaborate with a channel with a large following.

We ensure prompt delivery of subscribers with a high retention rate. A higher number of subscribers boosts the channel’s social proof, demonstrating an established audience to brands.
6. Create Your Own Media Kit
A media kit better positions you for sponsorship, and you should create one if you want to take your YouTube journey seriously and get more deals. This kit should contain your channel summary detailing your niche and unique selling points. Follow it up with your audience demographics; for example, is your ideal audience between 18 and 22, lives in the United States, and is interested in daily lifestyle content?
You can then share your channel metrics, including subscriber count, average views per video, watch time, engagement rate, and growth trends. Highlight previous deals, including the brand name and results achieved. Conclude with your rates and testimonials from previous clients.
7. Build Your Potential Sponsors List
You can easily target brands that align with your niche and goals by building a list of potential sponsors. It also makes it easier to narrow your content to the audience these brands cater to so you can comfortably be seen as an expert in that category.
Over time, this streamlines your outreach process so you know which brands to contact, guaranteeing a higher response rate. You’re also likely to build stronger collaborations and long-term partnerships, which every creator should aim for.
8. Craft Your Pitch and Outreach
When reaching out to potential sponsors, you need a compelling pitch allowing you to work with them. For a better result, create a personalized pitch highlighting why you’re the best fit for the job—including what makes you stand out from competitors.
You can also further explain why and how your partnership with the brand will benefit them, including details of the kind of results to expect. This shows that you know what you’re doing and are willing to go all out to help a brand achieve its expected results.
9. Signup with Sponsor Networks
Sponsor networks connect brands with influencers looking for sponsorship opportunities. They make the process of finding the ideal sponsor easier for you. For example, many brands would instead connect with influencer agencies to find the best YouTuber for their brand promotion.
If you join any of these agencies, you have a better chance of working with a brand than staying by yourself, hoping to be discovered. You can also join YouTube BrandConnect – a platform that connects brands with YouTube creators and provides tools to help you find sponsors, create campaigns, and measure performance.
10. Negotiate Your Pricing Models
It would be best to negotiate your pricing model to match the industry price to ensure fair pricing. Have a flat rate for any brand reaching out, and be clear on the deliverables that rate covers. You can also charge Cost Per View (CPV), where the number of views on your content determines how much you are paid.
The Cost Per Action (CPA) model simply means you’re paid based on specific actions taken by viewers to like, comment, share, click on links, or even make a purchase. Using any pricing model helps you set a fair rate to favor you regardless of the outcome and get you more sponsors.
11. Establish a Clear Contract with Sponsors
Every YouTube Content Creator needs a contract when working with sponsors, as it makes you professional while stating clearly what is expected from both parties. The contract should include clear deliverables stating the content to be created, including any specific requirements.
You should also note timescales, which outline deadlines for the process, for example, when the script should be approved when the video goes up, and the timeframe you’re expected to hit your target. Finally, it would be best to have a cancellation policy, so either party does not entirely take the fall when one opts out.
