What could be better than doing what you love on TikTok? How about getting paid to do what you love? Too good to be true? Not at all – learn how to join the TikTok Creator Fund, and you’ll be earning in no time. With a global audience of more than 1.59 billion active monthly users, TikTok is a social networking leviathan.

It can also be a fantastic place to earn money simply by putting out TikTok videos that attract plenty of views. Of course, there are terms and conditions that apply where TikTok’s Creator Fund is concerned. Certain criteria need to be fulfilled to apply, and you need to put out plenty of quality content to make things work.

But given the fact that TikTok has pledged to put a full $1 billion into its Creator Fund over the next three years, there’s Money to be earned for those who get it right.

Plus, if publishing on TikTok is already your thing, it simply makes sense to get paid for it, right? In this brief introductory guide, we’ll be explaining how to join the TikTok Creator Fund and monetize your content.

What is TikTok Creator Fund?

The TikTok Creator Fund was launched as a $200 million cash initiative to encourage creators to step up their game. The long and short of it is that with the TikTok Creator Fund, participants get paid for publishing quality content. The more engagement your videos generate, the more money you’ll see in your account.

Far from a free handout, the program is designed to motivate creators to put out as much quality content as possible. Given how TikTok only exists because of the efforts of its creators, it’s an initiative that makes sense. Anyone aged 18 years or over is technically eligible to apply to join the scheme.

However, other factors, including the number of followers you have and your current engagement rate, are also taken into consideration. If you’re granted access to the scheme, you’ll start earning between 2¢ and 4¢ per thousand views. This doesn’t sound like a lot, but it does mean $20 to $40 for every 1 million views.

And as this program is aimed at those who pull in views in huge numbers, it can all prove pretty profitable. Even if you don’t make a fortune through the TikTok Creator Fund, you’ll still be earning something, and that’s better than nothing.

Who Can Apply to the Creator Fund?

Eligibility requirements for acceptance to the scheme are fairly straightforward. But as there is an as-yet unconfirmed limit on the number of people who can join, fulfilling these requirements does not guarantee acceptance. It simply means you’ll be given fair consideration by TikTok, based largely on the quality of your content.

In any case, these are the main eligibility requirements that apply to qualify for the TikTok Creator Fund:

• You must be a resident of the U.S., UK, Germany, Italy, France, or Spain.
• Your account must comply with community guidelines and have at least 10,000 authentic followers (ideally more).
• You must have accumulated at least 100k views in the past 30 days.
• Your account must be linked to at least one valid payment platform (like PayPal)

Along with the above, TikTok will scrutinize the quality and consistency of your content in order to establish its suitability for the scheme. For obvious reasons, creators with a track record of publishing questionable or controversial content are usually excluded.

Is TikTok Creator Fund Worth Joining?

Some people look at the fairly low figures and immediately conclude it’s not worth bothering with. True enough, earning between 2¢ and 4¢ per thousand views doesn’t sound like a lot. Nevertheless, anyone publishing content on TikTok on a regular basis may as well claim all they can.

Even if you only come out with an extra $50 a week in your pocket, it’s technically free money. Plus, you could soon find yourself earning significantly more than this. It’s also worth remembering how there are limited places available in the TikTok Creator Fund.

Just as there is also a finite amount of money up for grabs, Sooner or later, the whole thing could come to an end or be changed to something entirely different. Either way, you currently have the opportunity to be generating income from your videos. You’re doing TikTok a favor with each video you publish – why not get something in return?

How to Join the TikTok Creator Fund?

1. Switch to Pro Account

In order to join the Creator Fund, you will first need to switch to a Pro account. Something that’s as easy as heading into your account settings, choosing the manage account option, and heading to account control. You can then choose the switch to the pro account option, after which you will be able to choose between a Creator or Business Pro account.

2. Open Account Settings

You’re now officially set up with a Pro account and can get your Creator Fund application underway. To do this, you’ll need to head into your account settings once again, Tap “Creator Tools,” and select “TikTok Creator Fund.”

You’ll be asked to verify that you are 18 years of age or older and that you have read all the terms and conditions set out in the TikTok Creator Fund Agreement. Hit the “Apply” button.

Top 5 Highest Paid TikTokers

Taking a look at the kind of Money the biggest TikTok earners are pulling in is always inspiring. Love them or loathe them; they’re demonstrating just how much money-making potential this platform has. Of course, the biggest names on TikTok generate revenues in ways that go beyond the Creator Fund alone.

Corporate sponsorship, paid ads, branded merchandise, influencer marketing – all capable of generating huge sums of money. Even so, they’re still pulling in healthy revenues from the TikTok Creator Fund. All are contributing to their annual TikTok earnings, which are no less than astonishing:

• Addison Rae: $5 million, 86.4M followers
• Charli D’Amelio: $4 million, 125M followers
• Dixie D’Amelio: $2.9 million, 55.1M followers
• Loren Gray: $2.6 million, 54.1M followers
• Josh Richards: $1.5 million, 25.5M followers

Interestingly, annual earnings on TikTok are not directly tied with the respective creator’s follower count. Or, to put it another way, there’s more to making massive sums of Money than building the biggest possible audience of followers. As can be seen in the following list of most-popular creators, who aren’t always the biggest earners:

• Charli D’Amelio – 125.0M followers
• Khaby Lame – 113.2M followers
• Addison Rae – 84.6M followers
• Bella Poarch – 82.7M followers
• Zach King – 65.1M followers
• Will Smith – 62.1M followers
• TikTok – 57.0M followers
• Dixie D’Amelio – 55.1M followers
• Spencer X – 54.8M followers
• Loren Gray – 54.1M followers

All of which illustrates how engagement is more important than popularity, where influence and earnings are concerned. It’s easier to make Money with tens of millions of followers, but a number like these aren’t mandatory to pull in decent revenues on TikTok.

Conclusion

Criticisms regarding the fairly frugal nature of the TikTok Creator Fund are understandable. The prospect of earning between 2¢ and 4¢ per thousand views isn’t going to blow anyone away, at least on paper. But what’s important to understand is how schemes like these are aimed at those who laugh in the face of a thousand views.

If you’re regularly pulling in 10,000, 100,000, or 1 million views with the posts you publish, you’re laughing all the way to the bank. In any case, to turn your back on what is essentially free Money makes no sense. TikTok established its Creator Fund to motivate and reward its biggest and best contributors. The truth is, most publishers do their thing on TikTok purely for the fun of it.

But if there’s a way of making money in the process, why wouldn’t you do it? Especially given how applying to join the scheme really couldn’t be easier. It costs nothing, it takes seconds, and there is no risk involved.

What the future holds for the TikTok Creator Fund remains to be seen. For the time being, it’s a great way of cashing in on the content you’re already publishing for free.
