How Does the Creator Search Insights Tool Work?
Open the “TikTok app”, and enter “creator search insights” in the search bar and tap “View” to start using Creator search insights.
You’ll instantly be transported to a list of trending topics across various niches, each accompanied by a search popularity score that indicates its current demand. Within this tool, all topics are organized into Suggested and Trending categories. Under Suggested, you’ll find two categories:
- Content Gap: This highlights topics frequently searched for by TikTok users, but few videos on TikTok cover these topics.
- Searches by Followers: Here, you can find the topics your followers are searching for—this option becomes available if you reach more than 1,000 followers on TikTok.
The Trending category gives a top-down perspective of what’s hot across the entire TikTok platform. It’s perfect for staying on top of broad trends and discovering cross-niche opportunities. In the For You section, things get personal. This filter tailor results to your specific content niche, serving up searches related to your expertise. It’s an ideal launchpad for viral ideas that align with your brand.
You can access Search Analytics, and within the feature, enter into “inspired posts” to see how your posts are performing, especially the ones you’ve created, by clicking through to the creation area from Search Insights. You can also check how your overall content is performing in TikTok search.
Each topic within Creator Search Insights has a Search popularity score and a red percentage marker showing its rapid growth over 14 days. Combined, these insights make making data-driven decisions about your content strategy much easier. In the fast-paced world of TikTok, staying ahead of the curve isn’t just an advantage—it’s essential.

4 Tips to Use Creator Search Insights Data for Content Strategy Development
Creator Search Insights provides invaluable data that can inform every aspect of your content strategy, from idea generation to execution. Here are four powerful ways to leverage this tool and elevate your TikTok game:
1. Fill The Content Gap
The content gap feature could be your golden ticket to TikTok stardom. It reveals highly sought-after topics that aren’t widely available—the perfect recipe for viral content. Start by exploring these gaps in your niche.
For each topic, dive deeper by looking into related searches and videos. This gives you a comprehensive view of what users are searching for and what is currently available.
Study the top videos in these areas, analyzing their thumbnails, titles, and content for inspiration. But don’t just copy—innovate. Use these insights as a springboard for unique content ideas that fill the gap while showcasing your creativity. Being the first to fill a content gap can establish you as a go-to creator for that topic, potentially leading to long-term engagement and growth.
2. Identify Trending Topics
The Creator Search Insights tool offers a real-time pulse on what’s hot across various niches—your fast track to visibility on TikTok. Use this information to align your content strategy with current trends and increase your chances of landing on the coveted For You Page. But don’t jump on every trend—be selective. Choose topics that naturally fit your brand and expertise.
This way, you can create content that rides the wave of popularity while adding value to your audience. The key is to meet audience interests while staying true to your unique voice. By striking this balance, you’ll create content that’s both timely and authentic, boosting your visibility and engagement.
3. Bookmark Ideas for Future Posts
Meet your content planner’s new best friend. As you explore the Creator Search Insights tool, you’ll come across more insights you can use. Click the bookmark icon next to any search term and save it for later. This feature allows you to build a stockpile of in-demand video ideas tailored to your niche. You can access these bookmarked search terms anytime in your favorites folder, providing constant inspiration for future content.
This approach ensures you can always meet audience interests and maintain a consistent posting schedule without compromising quality or relevance. It’s a simple yet effective way to streamline your content strategy and stay ahead of the curve.
4. Find Popular Keywords for Captions
Creator Search Insights isn’t just about video ideas—it’s also a powerful TikTok SEO optimization tool. Use it to find trending keywords in your niche, which you can strategically incorporate into your video captions and hashtags to boost your content’s discoverability. When crafting captions, weave these popular search terms naturally into your text.
This helps your content appear in relevant searches and signals to the algorithm what your video is about, further increasing its reach. Check your analytics regularly to see which keywords drive the most traffic and engagement. You can optimize your content for human viewers and the TikTok algorithm by consistently refining your keyword strategy based on these insights.
