Before You Connect

You need a Panel API account

Important: The MCP server uses your Media Mister panel account. A regular customer account will not work. If you do not have a panel account, create one now.

Account merge coming soon. In approximately 2 months, we will merge panel accounts and regular accounts into one system. After the merge, any Media Mister account will work with MCP. Until then, use a panel account.

Three requirements before you connect

A Panel Account
Sign up at mediamister.com/panel/signup. This is different from a regular mediamister.com login. Panel accounts have API access.

Your API Key
Log into your panel account. Go to Settings → API Key. Copy the key. It starts with api_. Keep it private.
3
Funds in Your Wallet
Add funds to your panel wallet. Use the Add Funds option in your panel dashboard. The API deducts order costs from this balance.

How it works: Hermes connects at startup. It finds the 5 tools. It registers them as mcp_mediamister_get_balance, mcp_mediamister_get_services, mcp_mediamister_add_order, mcp_mediamister_get_order_status, mcp_mediamister_get_multi_order_status. Restart Hermes. Frequently Asked Questions

I have a regular mediamister.com account. Can I use MCP?
Not yet. You need a panel account. Regular accounts and panel accounts are separate. Create a panel account here. In approximately 2 months, we will merge all accounts. After the merge, any Media Mister account will work.
Where do I find my API key?
Log into your panel account at mediamister.com/panel/settings. Your API key is on the Settings page. It starts with api_. If you do not see it, make sure you are in the panel (/panel), not the main site.
Can I use this with Hermes Agent?
Yes. Hermes Agent has a native MCP client. Add the server to ~/.hermes/config.yaml under mcp_servers. See the Hermes Agent tab above for the exact config. Restart Hermes. The 5 tools appear as mcp_mediamister_*.
Can I use this with OpenClaw?
Yes. OpenClaw supports streamable HTTP MCP servers. Use transport: "streamable-http" in your config. See the OpenClaw tab above for the exact config and CLI command.
I get "Invalid API key". What should I check?
Three things to check:
1. Panel account: Are you using a panel API key? Regular account passwords do not work.
2. Bearer prefix: The header must be Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY. Include the word "Bearer".
3. No extra spaces: Copy the key directly from Settings. Remove trailing spaces or line breaks.
If it still fails, regenerate your key at Panel Settings.
My order failed with "Insufficient balance".
Your panel wallet needs funds. Log into your panel account. Use Add Funds. Use the get_balance tool to check before you order.
Can I use MCP with ChatGPT?
ChatGPT supports MCP through Connectors. You need ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise. Use the Universal tab. Paste the prompt into ChatGPT. It will guide you.
How is MCP different from the REST API?
The REST API is for developers who write code (cURL, Python, PHP). MCP is for people who speak to their AI in plain English. The AI makes all HTTP calls. Same backend. Same tools. Different interface.
Is there rate limiting?
Yes. The limit is 60 requests per minute per API key. If you exceed it, you get a RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED error. Normal use will not trigger this. See the API docs for all error codes.
