How to Get More Listeners on SoundCloud?

Getting more listeners on SoundCloud requires hard work overtime, so you need to be patient in order to make it to the top. The tips brought for you today are proven to bring excellent results in a short amount of time, so follow them earnestly to boost your number of listeners.

1. Make a Quality Music Video

Some of you might be confused since SoundCloud is an audio-based platform, and we’re telling you to make a quality music video. Well, this tip is actually linked to consumer psychology. In the last decade, the audience’s interest has deviated towards video content, and they prefer watching music videos rather than listening to audio.

When you create a couple of high-quality music videos and upload them on your social media, it serves as cross-platform marketing. People would visit your SoundCloud account by following the link under your posted music videos, which will increase your listeners and plays.

Also, you can use music video teasers for the promotion of tracks before their release on SoundCloud. We understand that creating music is hard, and making a music video is harder, but doing this will work out well for you in the longer term, so consider making music videos.

2. Build Your Network

On SoundCloud, socialization holds the key to building a fan base. Make more online friends, contact your fellow music creators, ask friends to check out your tracks, in short, socialize as much as you can to increase your chances of getting more dedicated listeners.

Research has shown that personal interaction is more effective for attracting people compared to marketing campaigns. That’s why it’s a good idea to start socializing as it will help you form deeper bonds with people and make them your fans.

3. Remix Popular Tracks

Making remixes and mashups is an excellent way to increase your number of listeners on SoundCloud. People love it when someone makes a remix of their favorite track, and they make sure to check it out no matter what happens. Studies have shown that some of the most trending SoundCloud tags of all time include remix, mix, and house mashup.

This fact shows how popular remixes are and why you should be making them. Go ahead and make a cover of your favorite song, which is relevant to your genre, or combine a couple of your tracks and make something new out of them. It will give the audience something exciting to listen to, and you’ll start getting more plays and followers in no time.

4. Promote Music Via Social Media

Your dream of getting more listeners on SoundCloud can be achieved by effective music promotion. Fortunately, now you don’t have to make complex marketing plans and strategies; instead, you can promote your music using social media platforms.

Twitter, Snapchat, and whatever other social media platform you’re on, start sharing your music there and attach the link to your SoundCloud account as well. Doing this will give your friends a sneak peek of your work, and they might follow the link for more.

The more people visit your account, the more followers you’ll have, and therefore more track plays and dedicated listeners. Make sure to upload posts every once in a while, even when you’re not creating new music to keep your audience engaged and coming back.

5. Upload Music Regularly

Creating good music and having a vast online network won’t help you get more listeners if you’re inconsistent. To get more listeners, you need to upload new music regularly so that your audience remains engaged. Senior artists recommend making a content calendar and marking the upload dates.

Remember to adjust your schedule carefully so that you’re not in a rush and your tight schedule doesn’t affect the quality of your music. Uploading good music consistently will engrave your name in people’s minds, and they will keep coming back to listen to your tracks, so keep your chin up and upload consistently.

6. Post on Music Forums and Subreddits Sites

There’s no doubt that social media is a great way to promote music, but you can also use music forums and subreddits for running promotions as well. You can find thousands of music forums in a single Google search these days. Find ones that are relevant to your genre and promote your tracks there.

Music enthusiasts on these forums are always looking for new tracks, so you can get a lot of listeners by uploading your tracks there. Subreddits are also a great way to promote your music. Currently, the top 4 most subscribed subreddits are relevant to music, which means you have a great audience to pitch your music.

Just find subreddits for your genre and start posting your tracks there. Both these promotional methods are quite effective as they target a wide range of audiences, so consider using these platforms in your marketing campaign.

7. Use SoundCloud Ads

If you’re part of a record label or have an extensive marketing budget, then you should consider using SoundCloud ads. It will help you get exposure to a new audience by recommending your tracks and boosting your odds of getting more followers and plays.

However, there’s nothing certain with SoundCloud ads as you never know whether you’ll get promised results or not, so use this step only when you have enough funds for marketing.
