How to Get More Views on a Snapchat Story?

Snapchat stories have been growing in popularity ever since the feature was first launched. But with more than 900 million active users all competing for the same attention, getting noticed isn’t easy. Hence, figuring out how to get more views on a Snapchat story should be prioritized. Research suggests that almost 75% of all Snapchat users are 18 to 25 years old.

This is a highly engaged and influential demographic, which also has huge spending power. Consequently, Snapchat has immense potential as a marketing and promotional platform for all kinds of businesses.

With a Snapchat story, you get to share your day with your viewers in a brief and entertaining way. They only appear in the user’s Snapchat feed temporarily, making them even more engaging.

The more people you have on your Snapchat contact list, the easier it becomes to stack up views. But what can you do to reach new people and get them to take an interest in your Snapchat profile? Away from the Snapchat users who already know and follow you, how can you build an even bigger presence on this social network?

How to Get More Snapchat Story Views?

The key to success on any social media platform lies in engagement. Accumulating views on Snapchat means giving people a reason to view your snaps and check you out. With a Snapchat story, in particular, the whole thing needs to be done quickly. Given how the story will have disappeared after 24 hours, you don’t have long to get the job done.

Still, this is more than enough time to generate interest in your Snapchat account and gain plenty of views. Though it does mean you need to focus your efforts on the tactics that work best. With this in mind, here’s a brief rundown of 11 tips, tricks, and tactics for getting more Snapchat story views:

1. Post Attractive Stories

First up, your Snapchat stories need to be as attractive as possible. This may seem like a no-brainer but is often overlooked. The thing to remember is that you have just a few seconds to capture their attention with something striking and engaging.

This means that the start of your story needs to hook them in an instant with something seriously attractive. Don’t wait until later in the story to hit them with your best snaps. As they say – grab them by the eyes, or they’ll take the time and attention elsewhere.

2. Follow More People

Something else that can work wonders on Snapchat is to follow back more people. This is a tried, tested, and trusted strategy for boosting engagement across all social media platforms. When you follow a person on Snapchat, they are significantly more likely to check out your content and engage with your stories.

In addition, you have the opportunity to reach out to them directly with personal messages. Something that can be great for establishing relationships and boosting engagement with like-minded people. If you want as many people as possible to follow you, ensure you are willing to follow them in return.

3. Share It Everywhere

Promoting your Snapchat stories via as many online channels as possible also comes highly recommended. Let your audience know when you will be publishing a story, and show them where they can find it.

Post links, offer plenty of reminders and generate as much hype as possible. Make your stories sound irresistible and make them as easy as possible to find. Simply by asking people to check out your Snapchat story, you’d be amazed how many will do just that.

4. Watch Others’ Stories

Watching other people’s Snapchat stories can help in two ways. Firstly, it’s a sign of engagement and could help you build better relationships with other users. You check out their stories, you comment on them (or send the publisher a message), and you connect—all essential for building a bigger and more engaged audience.

Secondly, this is also a great way of seeing how other users entertain and engage their audiences. Taking inspiration from other Snapchat stories is fine, just as long as you don’t copy them outright.

5. Stay Active On Snapchat

This feeds into both of the above points regarding engagement and interaction. The most attractive Snapchat publishers are those who remain as active as possible at all times. This means those who communicate with their audiences and join the conversation.

In order to engage your target audience on Snapchat, you need to become an active part of the community. Chat with your audience, communicate with other publishers and make your voice heard. Give the impression you’re always watching, listening, and paying attention to what’s going on within your niche. Avoid long silent spells at all costs.

6. Post Regularly

Speaking of which, posting regularly can help you in two ways. Firstly, it’s essential for keeping people interested in what you do. The more regularly you publish, the more likely they are to stick around to see what’s next. Secondly, the Snapchat algorithm automatically favors active publishers.

If you publish stories regularly, they’re far more likely to be promoted by Snapchat. The same goes for your regular publishing strategy on Snapchat, where posting regularly often leads to increased exposure. Though it’s important not to post simply for the sake of it – quality must be prioritized over quantity.

7. Create A Routine

Getting into a routine is the best way of achieving the above. This means coming up with some kind of publishing schedule and sticking to it like glue. For example, if your audience is at its most active between 6 pm and 8 pm, why not post every day at 7 pm? This way, they’ll know exactly when to expect your next story and can ensure they turn up.

Predictability and routine can make a surprisingly positive difference on platforms like this. Even with Snapchat, where it’s all about quick fixes and instant gratification, scheduling holds the key to long-term engagement.

8. Write Catchy Titles

A quick point but important nonetheless – don’t underestimate the power of catchy titles. Throughout history, its headlines alone have single-handedly sold newspapers, magazines, and all types of online content. Unless your titles are attractive and engaging, the rest is inconsequential.

This is what will determine whether people stick around to see what comes next. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean making the mistake of resorting to clickbait—a guaranteed recipe for disaster on Snapchat, where people don’t appreciate being deceived.

9. Rank Higher In Your Friends Stories Feed

Getting to the top of your followers’ feeds is basically about publishing at the right times. Stories are displayed on a Snapchat feed in chronological order, in accordance with when they were last updated. This means that each time you publish or update a Snapchat story, it climbs back towards the top of their feed.

In which case, it’s worth making minor adjustments to your story every couple of hours to ensure they don’t miss it. To do so in a purely organic way, you can request comments and contributions from your viewers, then add them along the way. User-generated content (UGC) can be pure gold for selling a story.

10. Repurpose Content Across Platforms

Many social media platforms offer similar story features. If you’re putting together an engaging Snapchat story, you can easily adapt it for other platforms with comparable formats. The same applies when repurposing content between visually focused platforms. In which case, why not make the most of every platform you use?

If publishing something you are particularly proud of on Snapchat, it simply makes sense to share it far and wide. You can also include your other social media accounts in your strategy to expand your audience. The more people you present your content to, the better.
