How to Get More X Direct Messages?

Twitter (now known as X)) is one of the most prolifically used platforms and the social media format best for facilitating the connection between brands and audiences, so it’s no wonder you’re looking for ways to get more Twitter direct messages from potential customers, to build the relationships that drive sales, whether through private conversations or group conversations on Twitter.

With this in mind, we’ve compiled the top 6 tactics to gain more direct messages on Twitter for your business.

6 Simple Ways to Get More Direct Messages on Twitter

1. Send More DMs

You can’t expect your customers to come to you. Even if someone has a problem that your business solves perfectly, there are going to be several other businesses fighting for their attention in the current competitive market.

So, to connect with potential customers directly – to inform them of your product, service, or special offers or to simply start conversations and ask how you can help them – make the first move to get more direct messages from your prospects on Twitter.

From here, you can begin to develop relationships with your customers and execute brand-building that keeps your business top of mind.

2. Respond to All Your DMs

It’s essential for businesses to acknowledge and respond to every message they get on Twitter, to make customers feel valued, and to strengthen the relationship between your brand and its audience.

If you make it a priority to provide a response to every single person that messages you, not only does the good impression you leave on potential customers encourage them to make a purchase (or multiple), but it makes them more likely to reach out again, knowing they’ll be heard.

What’s more, your customers will be more inclined to share positive word-of-mouth marketing, inciting others to get in touch. This enables you to boost the number of Twitter DMs you receive from customers and provides the opportunity to connect with even more leads.

3. Send a Welcome DM

To initiate a relationship between your brand and new prospects/customers, there’s no better strategy than sending a welcome message on Twitter to make your customers feel appreciated. Sending an authentic Twitter welcome message will make your new followers and customers feel valued, helping to generate effective brand loyalty.

More than this, by reaching out, you create the opportunity for your new followers to reply, starting a two-way dialogue that allows you to build a relationship with that customer, as well as answer any queries that could be preventing them from making a purchase.

Of course, these replies provide a way for you to increase the Twitter direct messages you receive from your customers, driving engagement with your brand.

4. Offer a Great Deal

If there’s one thing that will encourage people to reach out, it’s a special sale or a lucrative discount code. By encouraging your followers – or anyone who sees a post on your business’s social media accounts – to follow and send DM to your business on Twitter to find out more about the deal.

With this, you can easily bridge the gap between your business and those who are interested enough to take the time to message – a.k.a. potential future customers – and you can send a group DM to your most interested prospects to keep them apprised of the latest deals.

Giving interested leads an incentive to get in touch allows your business to receive more DMs on Twitter – it also makes future engagement and purchases way more likely.

5. Host a Contest

Running a contest on Twitter is a great way to drum up your followers and drive engagement, as they provide an incentive to potential customers to engage with your brand.

To increase the number of direct messages you receive on Twitter, you’ll want to make following and sending a Twitter DM to your brand on Twitter a part of the pre-requisite for entering the competition. Then, choose a reward that’ll make your audience motivated enough to participate – such as a free giveaway of your products.

6. Buy X Direct Messages

To send the number of DMs you want in order to generate tons of new leads – while ensuring you’re targeting the right customers for your brand, which requires research – would take an inordinate amount of time.

In fact, you’d probably want to have a member of your team sending Twitter direct messages 24/7 in order to have the kind of success you envision. Instead of that – which is costly in terms of time and resources –you can fast-track connecting with your customers by buying Twitter DMs.
